Wow. When I launched my Festivals of Wine this year little did I know that by the end of August all tickets would have been snapped up, and every exhibitor table taken.
Our first event in Glasgow was in June, and was sold out by February. And now both London in October and Edinburgh in November are sold out too. The amazing value of our masterclass programmes has been appreciated with all sessions selling out even earlier.
And then we come to the Festivals’ exhibitors, with tables fully booked, at all three events. And the diversity and quality of exhibitors is more than I could have dreamed of, with so many smaller, specialist wine retailers on-board as well as the best of our national wine merchants and importers.
Another really pleasing aspect has been the global reach of the festivals among wine producers. We have wine estates attending from France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Cyprus and England, and from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Argentina. In all we have 21 different wine producers pouring their wines across the festivals.
How do I feel about all of this? Immensely happy of course, but also humbled, grateful and absolutely delighted. I’d like to thank every single one of you who bought a ticket, or took an exhibitor table, and all I can say is… roll on 2018!
